There was a moment, small and thin It slipped between where I had been No sound, no break, no sudden sign Just something missing out of time The room still moves the way it should The air still feels the same as wood But something quiet fell behind A second lost I cannot find Did it pass me by Or did I fall away From the line of time That carried every day The clocks are turning, so they say But I can feel a slight delay The rhythm holds but not for me It drifts in small uncertainty Did it pass me by Or did I fall away From the line of time That carried every day There was a moment I can’t trace It left without a single place And now I stand where time once slipped Holding on to what I missed
There should be a pattern here Something I can follow But every time I reach for it It’s already gone The clocks still hang But they don’t speak No hands to guide No edge, no peak A rhythm forms Then falls apart It almost lands But misses start I try to count I lose the line The space between Expands in time No measure No measure Nothing to hold Nothing to hold It comes back wrong It sounds the same But every turn It shifts its name No hands remain No path to trace Just empty time Without a place
I step in time But miss the place The world aligns Then shifts its face Too soon Too late Out of place Out of place Out of place The sound arrives Before it’s made The note repeats But starts to fade There was a second I couldn’t keep It slipped ahead Or fell too deep
I see them walking as before Across the same familiar floor Their voices land, their moments stay But something pulled me far away The streets still turn, the lights still glow The days still pass the way they know But I remain just out of phase A silent gap inside the days The world moves past me I cannot follow through Every moment carries on But leaves behind no clue The world moves past me Like I was never there A shadow in the moving light A breath inside the air I try to step back in the line To feel the weight of passing time But every step I try to take Arrives a second out of place The world moves past me Still turning without end Every face and every sound Moves on but won’t bend And I remain Where time stood still Watching everything Move on at will
Between the ticks Between the ticks I hear them speak But not in time They move around The edge of mine Not before Not after Only in between A voice without a place to stay A word that never finds its way Between the ticks I almost hear Something close
There was a way to keep it still A line, a shape, a measured will It slips again I feel it bend No start No end Nothing holds I hear the clocks but they don’t land They echo through an open hand A rhythm tries to take its place Then disappears without a trace Nothing holds Nothing holds If time was ever mine to keep It’s fallen somewhere out of reach And all that’s left is shifting ground Where seconds fail to make a sound
There is no line There is no place No moving edge No need to trace The world is still Or I have gone Beyond the shape It rested on Nothing holds But nothing falls No past remains No future calls No measure left No rise or fall Stillness becomes everything
