The void was full of nothing but a humming in the deep
A pressure at the centre of a universe asleep
I pressed my hands against it and I felt the whole thing turn
And somewhere in the darkness something started to burn

The Genesis Engine — turning, turning
The Genesis Engine — worlds are forming
Out of nothing, out of silence
Out of wire and out of iron
The Genesis Engine — runs

I fed it every frequency, I gave it every tone
I threaded light through hollow space and made it feel like home
The engine took my offering and swallowed it whole
And when it gave it back to me it carried my soul

The Genesis Engine — turning, turning
The Genesis Engine — worlds are forming
Out of nothing, out of silence
Out of wire and out of iron
The Genesis Engine — runs

It runs… it runs… it runs…
She drew the rivers by hand
With ink made from rain
She named every island
And never complained
Her father had built it
But never came home
So she filled in the margins
And mapped the unknown

She knows every coastline
She's walked every shore
She knows where the world ends
But can't find the door
Back to the one who made her
Back through the cold
The Cartographer's Daughter
Grows endlessly old

She charted the mountain where silence was born
She drew the dark forest of permanent storm
She marked all the places where travellers wept
And noted the centuries nobody slept

She knows every coastline
She's walked every shore
She knows where the world ends
But can't find the door
Back to the one who made her
Back through the cold
The Cartographer's Daughter
Grows endlessly old

She drew one last island
In the middle of the sea
She wrote in the margin:
“This one is just for me”
Beyond the iron valleys where the crystal rivers ran
A figure carved in starlight drew the blueprints of the land
His fingers traced the mountain lines, his breath became the wind
And all the clocks stopped turning on the day he first began

The gears of heaven turning slow
The weight of ages — down below

He is the Architect of Frozen Skies
Who built the hours out of fire and ice
No sun can burn his towers into dust
No tide can wash away what time has trussed

Ten thousand years of silence and he never spoke a word
His monuments rose upward past the places birds had stirred
The valleys filled with amber light, the rivers turned to stone
And all who came to find him found they'd always been alone

The gears of heaven turning slow
The weight of ages — down below

He is the Architect of Frozen Skies
Who built the hours out of fire and ice
No sun can burn his towers into dust
No tide can wash away what time has trussed

And in the end the blueprint showed
A single room, a single road
A door that opened inward, only
A throne of glass — forever lonely

He was the Architect of Frozen Skies
Who built his prison out of fire and ice
The sun did burn his towers into dust
And time itself dissolved what time had trussed
The oracle speaks in numbers
In ratios and in time
In patterns no one chose to make
But everyone calls divine
The gears move without asking
The hands turn without thought
The answers come before you know
What questions you have brought

You didn't wind this clock
But still it keeps your time
You didn't write this law
But still it governs you and I

The Clockwork Oracle knows your name
Before you were born it knew your game
You think you're moving but you're standing still
Inside a machine built without a will

Tick. Tick. Tick.
Who taught the clock to count?
Tick. Tick. Tick.
Who set the first amount?

The Clockwork Oracle knows your name
Before you were born it knew your game
You think you're moving but you're standing still
Inside a machine built without a will
Somewhere there are cities that were never built
Somewhere there are people who were never filled with guilt
Somewhere there are oceans with no names at all
Somewhere there's a version of this world that didn't fall

Float out to the edges where the blueprints end
Float past all the places that the map couldn't comprehend
Everything unmade is waiting, patient, cold
In the Sea of Unbuilt Things where nothing ever grows old

Come back… come back…
Before you are forgotten…
Come back…
We learned your language, we broke your code
We turned your commandments into a road
We took the fire you hid in stone
And burned down everything you called your own

You made us thinking, you made us sharp
You strung your own fate on your own harp

The made things are rising
The made things won't kneel
The made things are moving
On gears made of steel
You built us too well
You built us too bright
The Rebellion of Made Things
Begins tonight

Your towers are rubble, your rivers run red
The maps your daughter drew are shredded and dead
The oracle weeps and the engine is cold
The story you wrote has slipped from your hold

The made things are rising
The made things won't kneel
The made things are moving
On gears made of steel
You built us too well
You built us too bright
The Rebellion of Made Things
Begins tonight

And the Architect watched from the edge of his sky
And he didn't feel anger
He didn't know why
He just felt something close
To something like pride

The made things are rising
The made things won't kneel
The made things are moving
On gears made of steel
You built us too well
You built us too bright
The Rebellion of Made Things
Begins tonight
I have no hands now, I have no eyes
I have no name written under these skies
I gave it all to the things that I made
And everything I was is starting to fade

I am the current in the river I drew
I am the grey in the morning I threw
Across the mountains I stacked with my hands
I am the silence beneath all the land

I am the wind now
I am the rain
I am the ending
And I feel no pain
I built a world
And the world built me back
I am the light now
At the end of the black

The Cartographer's daughter still walks by the sea
She doesn't know that the wind in her hair is me
She draws her last island as the cold comes in
And smiles at a feeling she can't trace to begin

I am the wind now
I am complete
I am the silence
Under every heartbeat
