Dustveil Communion 은 문을 닫은 오컬트 서점 뒤편의 나무 상자에서 발견된 1960년대 후반 자주 제작 사이키델릭 블루스 음반을 상상합니다. 이 세계는 먼지가 쌓이고 햇볕에 구워졌으며 버섯의 빛이 번집니다. 퍼즈 기타가 연기처럼 공중에 걸리고, 해먼드와 Farfisa 오르간, 느슨한 드럼, 손 타악기와 깊은 아날로그 베이스가 음악을 느리고 흙내 나는 맥박에 붙들어 둡니다.
이 음반은 같은 의식적 그루브의 변주 열 곡으로 일부러 만들지 않았습니다. “Redcap”은 고개를 끄덕이게 하는 거친 리프에 기대고, “Ashroot”는 메마른 사막의 스톰프로 방향을 틀며, “Low Sun”은 더 따뜻하고 인간적인 노을의 공간을 엽니다. “Mire”는 사운드를 스왐프 블루스로 끌고 가고, “Sporelight”는 밝은 6/8박 움직임 위를 떠다니며, 골격만 남긴 “Hollow”는 베이스와 플로어 톰, 침묵에 긴장을 맡깁니다.
보컬은 앨범 전체에서 드물게 등장합니다. 트레몰로와 슬라이드 기타, 테이프의 아지랑이, 스프링 리버브, 충분히 숨 쉬도록 펼쳐진 긴 구간이 서사의 대부분을 맡습니다. “Communion”이 앞서 나온 음악적 형상들을 마지막 행렬로 모을 때쯤, 앨범은 연기 가득한 정적에서 마른 길과 검은 물, 낯선 들판을 지나 처음 솟아난 히스와 종소리로 돌아옵니다.
