Privacy & Cookie Policy

This policy explains what information RetroForge Records collects, why we use it, and the choices and rights available to you.

Who is responsible

RetroForge Records is responsible for the personal data described here. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to info@retroforgerecords.com.

Information we process

Site delivery and security. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may process technical request data such as IP address, requested page, date and time, browser or device information, and security signals. This is necessary to deliver and protect the site and is based on our legitimate interests in reliable, secure publishing.

Messages. If you use the contact form, we process the details you submit, such as your name, email address, subject and message, to reply and handle your request. Formspree processes the submission and hCaptcha helps prevent abuse. Depending on the message, the legal basis is taking steps at your request or our legitimate interest in responding to correspondence. Routine messages are normally removed within 12 months after they are resolved, unless they are needed longer for a continuing project, legal obligation or dispute.

Optional analytics. Google Analytics remains completely off until you explicitly allow it. If you consent, we use it in a privacy-limited configuration to understand and improve the website. It can process page views, interactions, referrer information, approximate location, and browser or device data. Advertising features, ad-personalisation signals and Google signals are disabled. The legal basis for this processing is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time through “Analytics settings” in the footer.

Cookies and local storage

TechnologyPurposeDuration
retroforge_analytics_consent_v2Necessary local storage that remembers whether you allowed or declined optional analytics on this browser.Until you change the setting or clear browser data
_ga and _ga_<container-id>Google Analytics cookies used to distinguish visits and measure site usage. These are set only after you allow analytics.Configured for up to 180 days after consent
hCaptcha security storageFraud and spam prevention when the contact form is used. hCaptcha may use cookies or similar technology that is necessary for this security function.Determined by hCaptcha

On a first visit, Google Analytics is not requested and its cookies are not set. Declining keeps it off. Withdrawing consent prevents it from loading on later page views and removes accessible Analytics cookies. It cannot undo information already processed while analytics was previously allowed.

External content and links

Pages load web fonts from Google Fonts and may request editorial or product images from providers such as Amazon, Unsplash, YouTube or Displate. Album pages with a YouTube player initially request a thumbnail from YouTube; the embedded player itself loads only after you press the play button. When your browser requests an external resource, the provider receives technical information such as your IP address and user agent. Clicking an external link takes you to a third party whose own privacy policy applies.

Some Amazon links are affiliate links. If you make a qualifying purchase, RetroForge Records may receive a commission without increasing your price. Affiliate links do not give us access to your Amazon account or order details.

Service providers and international transfers

Data may be processed by Cloudflare (hosting and security), Google (optional analytics after consent, with advertising features disabled, and fonts), Formspree (contact-form delivery), hCaptcha (abuse prevention), and the external content or commerce services you choose to visit. Some providers operate outside the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers rely on an adequacy decision, contractual safeguards, or another lawful transfer mechanism offered by the provider.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive your personal data, or object to its processing. You can allow, decline or later withdraw analytics consent through “Analytics settings” at any time. You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. Contact us first if you would like us to resolve a concern.

Policy changes and contact

We may update this policy when the site or its services change. The date at the top identifies the latest version. Questions or privacy requests: info@retroforgerecords.com.
