Ian S. Port는 The Birth of Loud에서 유난히 강력한 narrative engine을 갖고 있다.
Esquire/Broadcaster/Telecaster family는 bolt-on neck, solid body, replaceable part, 비교적 straightforward한 production logic을 통해 그 배경을 보여 준다.
California functionalism 대 carved tradition, bolt-on practicality 대 set-neck luxury다.
Stratocaster
Commercial instrument는 collaborative product다.
Guitar는 musical technique만큼 consumer industry, design, youth culture에 속하며, 그래서 The Birth of Loud는 훨씬 broad한 Play It Loud와 집중도 높은 companion이 된다.
