About This Album
The Garden That Wasn’t There is a seven-track psychedelic-rock album presented in the style of 1967. It begins with a path appearing where the ground had been closed, then follows perception as ordinary edges soften, colors behave like living things and the landscape starts answering the person walking through it.
The music unfolds slowly through clean tremolo guitar, spring reverb, tape echo and sustained Farfisa organ. Warm bass, restrained percussion and occasional Mellotron give the record weight without breaking its suspended atmosphere. Rather than driving toward conventional hooks, the arrangements open gradually and leave room for instrumental drift, phasing and tape-worn decay.
“The Ground Remembers” turns the journey downward, while “Colors Without Names” and “Liquid Light” translate vision into movement and sound. The instrumental “Breathing Trees” leaves language behind entirely. By “No Edges Left,” identity itself is breaking into layers; the title track closes the album with only fragments, responses and a recurring motif, as though the garden has absorbed both the traveler and the words used to describe it.

Lyrics
There’s a path that wasn’t there before Winding where the ground was closed Leaves are turning just to watch Every step I haven’t chose Something settles in my sight Like a lens I didn’t own Edges soften into light Every shape becomes a tone I don’t feel the weight I had Something lifted from the ground Every color leaning in Every silence growing loud Something opens in the air Like it’s always been aware Pulling gently at my sight Turning day into a light There’s a shimmer on the skin Not a touch but something near Like the world is folding in Through the edges of my fear Drops of color start to fall But they never reach the ground They just hover, breathing slow Moving softly all around Every second starts to stretch Like it doesn’t want to end Moments reaching into moments Bending back on where they’ve been I can see between the lines Of a space that isn’t there Like the air is made of signs Writing something everywhere Nothing stays the way it was Nothing holds its proper name Every glance rewrites the world Every step ignites the same Something opens in the air Like it’s always been aware Pulling gently at my sight Turning day into a light It’s not outside, it’s not within It’s not a loss, it’s not a win It’s something blooming through the frame That doesn’t answer to a name I can feel it in the ground In the silence, in the sound In the way the light behaves In the space between the waves There’s a path inside my mind Growing where I used to be Every step I leave behind Starts to walk ahead of me It was never really shown Still it feels like I have known Something shifting in the air Like the path was always there
There’s a pulse beneath my feet Not a sound but something known Every step I try to keep Feels like stepping on my own It moves slower than a thought But it’s always there before Like it’s waiting where I’m not Just beneath the surface floor I can feel it through the ground Through the spaces in my skin Like a slowly turning sound Pulling everything within It remembers where I stand Like it’s holding out a hand Pulling softly from below To a place I shouldn’t go It doesn’t ask, it doesn’t speak Still it finds me when I’m weak Every step becomes a sign That the ground is not just mine There’s a weight inside the air Pressing gently on my chest Like the space is growing there In a way I can’t contest All the lines I thought I knew Start to bend and disappear Every path is pulling through To a place that feels too near I could turn and walk away But it’s already in my stride Every step begins to stay Like it’s walking me inside It remembers where I stand Like it’s holding out a hand Pulling softly from below To a place I shouldn’t go Now the ground begins to rise Meeting slowly with my eyes Every layer underneath Starts to move and starts to breathe If I listen long enough I can hear it in the deep Not a voice but something rough Like a promise it will keep It was always underneath Every moment, every place Now it’s closer than my breath Now it’s closer than my face There’s no up and there’s no down Only where I’m being found Every step has come to show I was never not below
A color drifts beyond my sight Somewhere near but never clear Sliding slowly out of reach Then returning just as near Shapes are bending as they move Not ahead and not behind Like they’re waiting in a place I was never meant to find Every shade begins to breathe Every line begins to sway Something turning underneath Pulling gently at the day All the colors move through me Like a shifting memory Every shade begins to climb Out of space and out of time They don’t stay and they don’t end They just turn and turn again Every color that I see Feels like it is seeing me Brightness folding into sound Not a voice but almost there Like a thought that lost its shape Spreading quietly through air Almost something I could know Then it slips beyond the line Written somewhere I can’t go In a way that isn’t mine All the colors move through me Like a shifting memory Every shade begins to climb Out of space and out of time Now the lines are turning thin Everything is wearing in Every color that was found Starts to fade without a sound Colors drifting out of view Nothing left to hold them to Still they linger in the air Like they’re almost always there
Instrumental
There’s a color I can’t say Somewhere between night and gold It appears then slips away Like a story never told It moves sideways through my eyes Not ahead and not behind Like it’s waiting in the space Where I haven’t learned to find Every shade begins to breathe Every line begins to sway I can feel it underneath Pulling slowly at the day All the colors move through me Like a shifting memory Every shade begins to climb Out of space and out of time They don’t stay and they don’t end They just turn and turn again Every color that I see Feels like it is seeing me There’s a brightness in the air That dissolves before it’s known Like a thought that isn’t mine Trying slowly to be shown I can almost understand Then it slips beyond the line Like it’s written in a way That was never meant for mine All the colors move through me Like a shifting memory Every shade begins to climb Out of space and out of time Now the lines are turning thin Everything is wearing in Every color that was found Starts to fade without a sound Colors drifting out of view Nothing left to hold them to Still they linger in the air Like they’re almost always there
Lines are fading from the scene Nothing sharp and nothing clear Everything that I have seen Feels like it was never here There’s a space without a form Where I thought I used to be Something quiet, something warm But it isn’t really me I was… No more edges left to find Only layers in the mind Every shape has come undone All is many, all is one I can’t tell where I begin Or the place I used to be Something’s letting everything Drift into infinity There’s a voice but it is thin Like it’s fading as it speaks Every word it might have been Falls apart before it leaks Was I ever… Nothing holds and nothing stays Not the time and not the place Every thought just drifts away Before it forms a shape or face No reflection, no return No direction left to take Every line begins to burn Into something I can’t make No more edges left to find Only layers in the mind Every shape has come undone All is many, all is one No more edges left to see Nothing left that looks like me Every piece has come apart Leaving only what we are There’s no end and there’s no start Only something without part
All along… …all the same Open. Gone. Still here. All along All the same No more names No more lines No more edges No more time Always here Always here All along All the same Now it stays Without a name No before. No after. Just— All along All the same Nothing lost Nothing gained All along… All the same…
