About This Album
The Glass Engine Awakens is a six-track progressive rock concept album presented as a 1973 transmission. Its central idea is an impossible machine discovered beneath the earth: neither built nor natural, responsive to thought, and capable of reshaping reality.
The music was designed around Hammond organ, Mellotron strings and choirs, Moog leads, restrained electric guitar, analog bass and dynamic drums. Shifting meters and gradual changes connect the tracks into one continuous journey, with tape warmth and room ambience favoured over modern polish.
The sequence moves from discovery and activation into expansion, fracture, fusion and a quiet aftermath. The album’s project notes describe it as long-form headphone listening: one evolving organism rather than six isolated songs.

Concept Sequence
Discovery: “Beneath the Quiet Stone” begins with the buried presence being found.
Activation: “The Engine Stirs” responds as thought and mechanism begin to interact.
Expansion: “Circuits of the Mind” carries that connection beyond ordinary distance and space.
Fracture: “Fracture Lines” turns the system unstable as identity and structure begin to split.
Fusion: “The Glass Engine” removes the boundary between the machine and its witness.
Resolution: “Silence After Signal” leaves the signal quiet, but not necessarily gone.
Lyrics
There’s a tremor in the ground below Not a sound but something slow Like a breath that learned to wait Buried deep beneath the weight Stone remembers more than time Every crack a hidden line I can feel it through my hands Something shifting in the land No one told us not to look No one sealed the ancient book So we opened what we found And the silence made a sound
Turn the dial but nothing turns Still the circuit slowly burns Light appears without a source Pulling thought along its course Every motion feeds the core Every thought becomes much more Not a tool and not a guide Something waking from inside Feel it moving through the air Something answering you there We are not the ones in control We are pieces of the whole Turn the dial but now it turns Every circuit clearly burns
Every thought begins to glow Tracing paths I do not know Lines connect and fold again Building worlds inside my head No more distance, no more space Everywhere becomes one place Time dissolves into a stream I am walking through a dream Everything is everywhere Nothing vanishes to air Every thought becomes a line Every line becomes a mind Every thought begins to glow But it’s not my own I know
Cracks are forming in the frame Nothing fits the way it came Every edge begins to bend Every start becomes an end Voices split and multiply Echoes learning how to lie I can hear myself divide Something tearing me inside Hold the shape but lose the form Calm dissolves into a storm Every line I try to draw Breaks against a deeper law Nothing holds and nothing stays Every self begins to fray
Now the engine breathes as one Not a thing that can be undone Every thought and every sound Spinning worlds that wrap around No more distance left to cross No more gain and no more loss Everything is woven through Nothing left that isn’t you There is no inside or out There is no remaining doubt Every line has disappeared Everything is now adhered Now the engine breathes as me Now the engine lets me be
Now the sound begins to fade Like a debt already paid All the motion settling down Nothing lost and nothing found Was it real or just a phase Something caught between the days Still I feel it in the air Like it’s always waiting there In the quiet something stays Hidden just beyond the haze Not a voice but not a void Something never fully void If I listen close enough Past the quiet, past the rough There’s a rhythm, soft and thin Like the world begins again
